It is said that we only use a fraction of our brains. I like to say that most have limitations which serve as a kind of safety mechanism. Why? Because:

1. The prospect might be frightening, and fear rarely results in rational or reasonable action.

2. We are simply not a sufficiently evolved species to withstand these added capabilities.

3. As a greedy species by nature, the consequences for misuse by the masses could be downright nasty.

There is a minority who display "supernatural" abilities. Let's call them "exceptional" abilities instead. It's more apropos. These individuals are able to tap into the frequency of bioelectricity beyond their bodies to such a degree, that they may assimilate these thoughts on a conscious level. Or - in Internet terms - they can access a distant consciousness in a manner similar to server hopping.
