It does for me. In over two decades of readings, I've found that:
A perusal of my theories of extrasensory phenomena on the magick side of this website will lend to a possible explanation of tarot's nature. As a form of divination, tarot gets its info from a higher plane of existence (or higher beings. After all, it does involve "divinity"). Since Tarot involves energy manipulation, a reader's technique to obtain the best comfort and concentration - not to mention their course of actions - can vary radically from on to another's. Tarot's only consistent order of procedure is listed as this section's title: the subject thinks over their situation, shuffling is done, the cards are dealt, and then interpreted. From here on in, the sky's the limit:
As usual, it is ultimately how the reader has "tuned" their cards (that is, the degree of the owner's energy accumulated by frequent contact; you'll find most tarot enthusiasts store their reading deck under their pillow, wrapped either in cotton or silk) that determine how the cards will fall. The deck conforms to their methods and their system of interpretation. For example: I may see a particular card and say it means something specific. If someone else gives me a Tarot session, and that card comes up, it may mean something else entirely, so I will not second-guess the card's meaning in that case. Individuality is prevalent in divination, and it is to be respected between practitioners.
If you're interested in looking into how Tarot readings are conducted, check out the Tarot Shop link below. I have a couple of interesting books you may consider. If you enjoyed the artwork of the decks displayed on this site, you can get them too. They're relatively inexpensive, considering the effort gone into them and the quality of printing. Collecting Tarot decks strictly for art's sake is prefectly acceptible. After all, they're only paper, ink, and sometimes plastic coating...
