Great
Theatre Debates
(2000, 2001)
The
Clyde Fitch Group produces a "Great Theatre Debates" series,
partnering with such organizations as the Drama Desk, New Dramatists,
and the New York International Fringe Festival. The mission of "Great
Theatre Debates" is to elevate discourse about the American theatre
-- to illuminate the art and artists, commerce and crises, and triumphs
and trends driving the industry. By assembling distinguished and influential
artists, producers and opinion-makers, "Great Theatre Debates"
reflects upon the growing position of the theatre in American cultural
life -- and the need to enhance that growth. Click

150
Years of The Next Big Thing
(1997)
Our
inaugural project: A trilogy of satirical one-acts covering 150 years
in the entertainment industry. The plays included Trying a Dramatist
(1912), an adaptation of the last, unproduced play by Sir W.S. Gilbert;
Happy Birthday, Tina Marie (1997), a black comedy about a former Hollywood
child star in struggling to make a comeback; and The Barbra Streisand
Comedy Hour (2062), about Barbra Streisand, cryogenically frozen since
2002, coming back to life and attempting to star (write, produce,
key grip, direct) her own weekly television variety show.
